To get the most of your listing, here are a few tips on how to create a gorgeous listing that would captivate the hearts of viewers.

Don't Skip

  • #6 – Upload a crisp thumbnail photo
  • #10 – Upload gorgeous photos to your photo gallery

1. Title

This should be your business name, your brand, how you identify yourself.

2. About

You should take the time to tell your story and why our visitors should contact you.  Be honest, be catchy, tell your story & set yourself apart. Try to be organized and clear, meaning, a bullet list reads easier than a long paragraphs of text.

Feel free to copy these sample questions along with your answers in the about section.

  • How did you get into your business?
  • How long have you been in business?
  • Do you offer any customization (ex: jewelry, cakes..etc)?
  • Explain to our readers why your service / product is set apart from your competition?
  • What ingredients do you typically use? (cakes, catering)
  • What kind of icing do you use?
  • What is the delivery process?
  • You should indicate a price range. Visitors checking out your portfolio will want to know whether it costs $10 or $1,000.

3. Award Badges

Many websites give you a badge or an award after being featured or for being the “Pick of the week or month”. They usually provide you with an HTML code that you can simply paste in this section. This badge will be displayed on your profile page in the corner showing your credentials and accomplishments.

Example: The badge:

Can be displayed by using the html

4. Category

Pick the category that best fits your business. Selecting the wrong category will only confuse readers.

5. Location

Pick the nearest location that your business operates in. If none is listed in the drop down. Then let us know!! We’ll be happy to add it to the database.  If you are a website that doesn’t necessary focus on a geographical area then select “Worldwide” as your location.

6. Thumbnail

I can’t stress how important it is to have a good crisp thumbnail image. This is the first thing people tend to look at when they are browsing different vendors on the same page.

  • Photographers (listed in Photography category) should pick a 300 x 225 pixels image
  • Vendors (listed in all other categories) should pick a 150 x 150 pixels image

A great example is what Liz Cowie Photography, a talented wedding photographer in Florida did. You can see a beautiful crisp thumbnail photo.

7. Websites

Most vendors will want to select all the websites on this list unless you have a good reason why you don’t want your listing to appear on a specific website.

8. Premium Options

If you are a premium client, then you will have few additional options visible to you.  Example, you will want to select the checkbox that lists your website under the Featured section.

9. Contact Information

It goes without saying, but you’ll want to enter as many as you have and keep updated.  Some brides, use Facebook, others prefer Twitter or Pinterest.   Assuming you have both then go ahead and list both.  We do recommend that you do not list an account that outdated or not monitored. The last thing you want is a bride to contact you and her question goes unanswered.

10. Photo Gallery

It’s important to upload samples of your work or pictures of your product.  Brides want to see what they’re buying or hiring. Don’t shy away from sharing the beauty of what you have to offer!

A great example is what Twisted Ranch Weddings, a beautiful wedding venue in Austin, Texas did with their portfolio gallery. They uploaded photos that show the beauty of the venue! You can see it below
